Part 1 - Black hate infinity - escape from misanthropy

part a

is an installation which expresses my initial mental state at twenty years old. The installation is full of symbolic elements - the aggressively painted chair and the table in the corner covered with black and white discotheque images <photo-painted, symbolize hate and the lack of empathy towards people. The photographic self-portrait illustrates two themes which are present throughout the cycle - eyes and mirrors. The eyes are in shadow. in black to represent misanthropy. The mirror placed behind me expresses the absence of auto-analysis and the projection of my problems towards others. The quote under the self-portrait is from Proust, the true journey of discovery does not consist in searching for new places, but in having new eyes", words which have given my whole artistic project an important approach. On the table there are also a c.d.player with earphones where it's possible to listen to a very aggressive music, <I played the drums, which best expresses my mood of the time in question, the words of the song are inspired by one of my poems which are also to be found in my book "Young Schizophrenic Soul - Me and My Chemical Generation". There are two books on the table: 1"Psicanalisi dell'amore" (Psychoanalysis of love) by Erich Fromm which symbolizes the psychoanalytic approach to my work. 2"Ecstasy" by Irvine Welsh which symbolizes my interest in "my chemical generation", discotheques, raves and psychotropic substances and that which can be called . The beer cans holding up the table symbolize my dependence on alcohol. The leaves on the floor metaphorically represent the desire to change; the will to escape my misanthropy.
