The self-portrait contains the maxim, "The true journey of discovery is not in searching for new places but in having new eyes" - Proust. This fundamental quote is present throughout my creative course, recalled in the self portrait of the first part "Black hate infinity", as well as in my book and in this work. My constant need to look at things from all points of view (trying to have new eyes), caused me to lose my identity which was the capacity of having a determined opinion on all aspects of life. The eyes of the self portrait are white and symbolize this condition.

Part a

The recurring theme of the mirror is also present. In Part 1 "Black hate infinity" the mirror is behind me expressing misanthropy and the incapacity of self criticism. In the video Part 8 (The Death of "Narciso") I am looking at myself in a mirror and then head butt it, expressing mental awkwardness and not being able to face myself. In Part 9 the mirror frame projects outwards, no longer expressing a precise mental state but my incapacity of expressing it.
